Software development part 1
Analysis of requirements
The first thing I would have to do is plan. I would have to talk to fellow program designers for advice and ideas as well as the Notre Dame gym department to find out specifics like exactly what they want and how they want it to work. Then I would develop a timeline and make rough estimations for the amount of time each segment of the system would take to be complete.
Design
The next step would be to design the program. This would involve creating a unique look to the program and finding out how to put the program somewhere where others can access it. This would involve adding the database to a section of the Notre Dame website. With clear goals and a feasible image of what this will look like we can now start developing the database.
Build
Next I would create the program. The program would allow others to create and add to pages citing info about an athlete or team. The program would create graphs that compare teams and athletes over the years based on things like games won, goals won, etc. The program itself would be developed a programming language like Java and the website it is on would be programmed in HTML.
Testing
After creating the program I would have to try and use the program itself. I would test it by putting information in and seeing if it came out correctly. I would also try using the program on different web browsers and operating systems to see if the program is accessible to everyone.
Maintenance |
|
After creating the program it would have to be maintained. The gym department would be given the tools and knowledge to update information ans game results, but I would have to ensure the website is constantly compatible with other software updates and refined to the smallest yet most efficient system possible.
